Diwali is celebrated by Indians to mark different historical events, stories but they all symbolize the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, hope over despair.
It is a metaphor for resisting evil, for dispelling darkness and for compassion to others. Diwali is the celebration of this inner light over spiritual darkness, of knowledge over ignorance and right over wrong. It is a festive restatement of the Hindu belief that the good ultimately triumphs over evil.
So let’s celebrate this true spirit of Diwali and let your performances bring out this theme in the best possible way you can!!
The deadline to submit all performances is 20th September.
All entries must be sent via email to Parisha Vora, and Nupur Verma with a brief description of 4-5 lines.
Since the venue has a relatively small stage we would like to keep the group size to 2-8 people only.
Each performance has a maximum time limit of 5 mins only.
We will be taking only 14 entries for performances, so make sure to get your entries well in advance. We reserve the right to stop taking entries once we have reached the limit. 2 items per choreographer.
REMEMBER: Try your best to incorporate the theme in your performances in any creative manner that you like. And if you need help exploring or understanding the theme better, please contact Maitreyi Siruguri at Maitreyi2005@gmail.com
